Initially, our talent pool was vastly superior to the other countries, however, as they were building proper infrastructure so as to be able to cultivate and nurture their talents, however little it may have been, the West Indies Cricket Board of Control was steadfastly twiddling their thumbs. <br> So it was inevitable that it would get to this stage where the gap is no more and we are left way behind in typical anti-developing country style. Why would we have planned anything for the future back then, for which we would be reaping the rewards now? If we did that then our economies wouldn't be spiralling out of control or our football would be world class and not jus a circus act of watching clowns do tricks on the field.<br> The only thing we continue to dominate is Track and Field or dare I say compete at a high level. This is basically because this is the most "natural " of sports. IT is not team oriented, for the most part and the infrastructure is not as complex and sophisticated as the other sports. <br> So a very simple answer to your question is actually an emphatic"YES", we will return to the glory days of Clive Lloyd as captain through to Viv Richards.
